The Chairman of the Jaffaria Waqf Board, Shaikh Mohsin Al Asfoor and officials from the Ministry of Housing discussed the coordination mechanisms regarding solving the issue of dealing with Waqfs lands that are located in the areas allocated for Housing projects.
The representatives of the Ministry of Housing explained that certain criteria has been determined according to the interest of Waqf, and that the Ministry strives as much as possible to preserve the rights of the Waqf and to ensure that the housing projects will not be delayed.
For his part, Al Asfoor said: “If the Ministry of Housing abides by the agreed legitimate and technical regulations to maintain the boundaries of the original Waqf property, the Waqf Directorate will grant quick approvals without resorting to the courts, the two parties agreed to enhance mutual cooperation in order not to hamper the housing projects”.
